On Wednesday I have finally, after very
long time, gone on a trip outside the city of Aalborg. I went to Aarhus with Ela, we
saw an article about EDU days in Aarhus. After signing up we were able to
go by bus for free and visit the study abroad fair at Aarhus University. The bus was leaving from
Aalborg university at Aalborg Ost , so I had to go by bike to get there. When
we were about to get on a bus, they asked us our name to check it in the list,
here is where I was charmed by Danish culture. I definitely looked like a fool.
Because they ask me my name and I supposed that they want to know surname and
then when she wasn’t able to find me on the list and asked me if I am sure I
signed up, I realized that the list contained just first names. :D
Firstly we went to the fair, where we were able to see how lucky you are if you have been born as a Danish citizen, because they are able to get money from government to be able to study abroad in USA, Australia, China, New Zealand and so on.Then we went to explore the city, we walked along Gamle By, botanical garden and then we continued towards the city center. Aarhus is the second biggest city in Denmark and I would say that it is 3 times bigger than the fourth Aalborg, but maybe it is just my own opinion.
I guess I am not used to walking anymore, because during the walk through city I have sprained my ankle several times and when we arrived back to Aalborg I have sprained it most sorely. Someone was watching me falling down but he just hopped on his bike and cycled away. But I must say that biking is now easier for me than walking.
And the best news is that I got accepted and now I am a part of Idea factory, which is volunteer student Design Company. We will be working on Orkester Norden project now. I am very excited and I am looking forward to it but I am of course little bit scared if I would be able to work with a real client. But it will be definitely great and useful experience for my future internship and career.
