Museums and Museum market

Museum van Loon, Stedelijk and Van Gogh museum, these are the museum which I have visited recently.

The first one Museum van Loon is canal house of van Loon family on Keizersgracht.  Willem van Loon co-founded the Dutch East-India Company.  Rooms are filled up with fine furniture, collection of paintings, porcelain and silvery. You can get a glimpse of the life of Van Loon family. Behind the house is a beautiful garden (and coach house) where you can relax.

Last sunday the Museum market took a place at Museumplein, Museum market is a beautiful place where you can buy art and  design objects, fashion and good food. It was really nice, there vere so many nice and inspirational things. So of course we could not resist to buy something.

When I finaly had a day off I wént to see new exhibition at Stedelijk museum : BAD THOUGHTS collection Martijn and Jeannette Sanders. It is one of the most important private art collection in Netherlands. They began to collect art of artists of their own grenation in the 70s. The other exhibition at Stedelijk were photographs by canadian artist Jeff Wall. I really like the usage of lightboxes, which are originally created for large outdoor advertisements. Seeing them on museum wall was really interesting and appealing.

Latest visited museum was Van Gogh museum, I havent been there since the autumn 2012 ( my first visit to Amsterdam with Johi), so it was really nice to see it again. I really like new discovered painting (2013) by Van Gogh called Sunset at Montmajour.

 You cannot take a pictures of art at Van Gogh museum, you can only take a pics at specially designed places like this one.
