Forget me not: Amsterdam April DAY 11 & 12

April 26 th was a first King´s day, after coronation of king Willem Alexander Queens day was changed to King´s day (the date was changed too: from 30.April to 27.April, but if it would be Sunday it changes to Saturday as it was this year). I did not experience that before so I didn´t know what to expect. Since the early morning (10:00) I could hear the music from outside. I decided to walk around Noord before meeting friends and going to the city center. The first thing I could see was everyone dressed up in orange, having fun and carrying beer ( this is the only day you can dring on public ;) ) During King´s day city was one big party place & flea market. Everyone was on the streets selling whatever they found at home or mare or cooked, everyone was in good party mood, smiling and drinking and everyone was sailing on a boat through city grachts. When we wanted to go from Noord to Vondelpark it was at some parts imposible to ride bike as the streets were full of people. I just realised that I didn´t make any picture because I had to manage how to get throught that crowd with my bike. We ended up enjoying beer at literally oasis of calm: WG caffee (pretty close to Vondelpark, but genuinely hidden from all the things happening on the streets this day; this did not applied to dutch waitresses in a good beer mood).

The next day (last day of my stay in Amsterdam) we managed to finally find Lotus Dome in Rijksmuseum and it was awesome. It is a huge circular object made from aluminium leaves with moving light inside of it. As the light was changing direction different leaves were opening or closing according to heat from the light. After that we went to FOAM museum to see Richard Mosse photographs and videos of war torn Congo taken using infrared film ( he just won Deutsche Börse Photography Prize for it). After amazing exhibition and chill in FOAM caffe it was time to say godbye to Amsterdam and go to Schiphol airport. I had a great time here and I can wait to be there again soon.

I don´t know why, but everytime I had to go back to Aalborg I feel sick and something bad happens. This time I felt sick again and then I got really upset by Aalborg stupid buses. After landing at 9:30 at the airport I had to wait one hour for the bus, but because the bus was late I missed the connecting bus from busterminal so very tired and upset me had to wait another hour at the busterminal. When I finally got home it was after 1 AM. Of couse thanks to this awful welcome I felt very unhappy to be back in Aalborg. It is getting beter, but still I cant wait for the start of the holiday!

nice orange signs showing trashbins in Vondelpark. I was so amazed how great they managed to keep everything cleen. There were people and cars consistently cleaning the park and every party group of people was provided with bag for trash.
